Thanks Guys,
Good to meet you yesterday dude!
Yes the turd has seen a fair amount of action over the last few years, as it stands i'm looking into a cometic MLS head gasket to loose .5mm to increase compression ratio and produce more power n/a, will be taking advice from Ant on this. My thinking is that rather than going for the perminancy of decking the block the unit can go low compression again without drama. Thinking of selling the engine if the right money is offered and buying the building blocks of a 3.1 litre m20 from IE.
No real issues with the car beyond needing to replace a wing at some point in the future.
Yesterday, as mentioned above, i popped over to Peter's and relieved him of 4 doors and a bonnet. While the car looks ok in pictures the doors (and Bonnet to an extent) were like the surface of the moon with all manner of small dings and tin worm was starting to set in on the leading lower edges.
So with some spannering...
Much nicer pannels to be corrected prior to the BBB BBQ next friday.
Set about curing a bad case of red/black door socket corrosion to get the central/dead-locking operational. LM & Copper Grease applied to ensure nice smooth action all round.
Even some waxoil, seemed rude not to with the cards off...
A bit of effort but very pleasing to have some straight pannels back on the car
