Last winter shagged out my battery with the minus-30 temperatures, and it finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. Ever since February she'd been stalling at traffic lights, and it took quite a few cranks to get her going in the morning. She finally croaked her last at a petrol station, where after a 5 minute stop there wasn't enough juice in the battery to even turn the engine over.
So I splashed out on a new 65Ah battery from a local producer and BOOM! She starts in a heartbeat, and seems to have loads more grunt in third and fourth gear. The thirsty 2.0 has suddenly become a pleasure to drive again!

Glad to hear it - it's surprising how many noticeable differences a new battery can make
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.
Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

The girls love a bit of a Bosching.Ranchero wrote:I've been driving around a bit today with the new battery in. I have to admit, while there has been no marked improvement in performance, I have been getting a lot more attention from the chicks.
Coincidence?

Just came back to this thread, and hadn't anticipated it'd take this sort of turn!
its prob faster cause the ecu has to relearn the settings and hence adds more fuel so make sure it dont run lean!!
