Last winter shagged out my battery with the minus-30 temperatures, and it finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. Ever since February she'd been stalling at traffic lights, and it took quite a few cranks to get her going in the morning. She finally croaked her last at a petrol station, where after a 5 minute stop there wasn't enough juice in the battery to even turn the engine over.

So I splashed out on a new 65Ah battery from a local producer and BOOM! She starts in a heartbeat, and seems to have loads more grunt in third and fourth gear. The thirsty 2.0 has suddenly become a pleasure to drive again!

Glad to hear it - it's surprising how many noticeable differences a new battery can make :D
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

I just installed a new battery today also.

No discernible difference in performance though :( .

At least it starts without a jump now.

Maybe better start up but don't see how you would get better performance with new battery..

I've been driving around a bit today with the new battery in. I have to admit, while there has been no marked improvement in performance, I have been getting a lot more attention from the chicks.
Coincidence?

its prob faster cause the ecu has to relearn the settings and hence adds more fuel so make sure it dont run lean!!
