Hello.
I have an early (1985) 325i, and I'm installing megasquirt there, but I stuck at ignition pickup.
Now, I dont have the tooth wheel at the front of the engine, instead there are two VR cencors on the back of the engine, of which I know one reads flywheel teeth's and the other reads some flywheel mark for the ignition system.
I would like to know (without removing the gearbox from the car) the exact configuratino of these, namely
1. how many teeth on the flywheel, are there some purposely missing ?
2. the oher sensor that reads the mark... is there only 1 mark or more (might be 3 to read 3 tdc's), and in what location relating to TDC ?
That info would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance,
Mops.

There are just two plips on the flywheel if memory serves!
TBH, you might be better off buying a trigger wheel and sensor bracket from a later engine. Mine's a 1985 car and I had the same problem but the holes for the bracket are drilled in the front of the block so it's a simple case of removing the old front pulley and bolting on the new one and sensor bracket

Thanks for info.
Yeah, i'm trying to source out the front toothed pulley, BUT i cant find one for reasonable price around here. I found 1, but they want me to buy whole bottom end of 320 engine... for too much money.
