wondering why it is that on the smiley headlights
some of them when you put the sidelights on the elipsoid lights up dim with the sidelight bulb too
and on others (mine) when you put the sidelights on its just the sidelight bulb that lights up.

is it a common difference or does mine have a fault?

any suggestions

This was dim dip function on face lift cars up to around autumn 88.
Switched in two large resistors, which live right at the very front of the left hand inner wing.
They connect into the body loom part way back the left inner wing by two round black two pin plugs and sockets.

thanks for the speedy reply Brian

so could they be unplugged and then it would be just the sidelight bulbs that would light up

or is it not as simple as that

so how do we go about removing the elipsoid dim function from the sides?

If I ever get to call in all the pints I've been promised, I'm going to have one hell of a piss up.
