I've been chasing this for a couple of months or so now.My mate at work's brother-in-law had it sitting outside his house since november when the tax and mot ran out.I had offered to buy it but he wasnt all that interested. Got a call last week to say i could have it for free if i removed it myself, result!
Originally i had been told it was a 316i,after a quick check on the Dvla's website( he lost the log book) it seems its a 318i,thought it was odd as it pulls so much better than my last 318 touring.
As said it had been sitting since november so it had a flat battery,a quick jump start later and it fired into life, the brakes were a little stiff so after a quick blast on a private road( obviously!) it was all systems go!
It does have a couple of small issues,it failed its mot on two things- a headlight bulb and a wiper blade

This is the front wing that i'll be replacing, not the worst ive seen but its not pretty either-

You cant really see in this pic but there is some laquer peel under the window,if it wasnt for this i'd keep it red as the rest of the car looks good really.

As said im thinking of changing the colour seeing as though i'll be changing the front wing, drivers door and sorting out the laquer peel. I painted my e36 touring matt black and did quite a good job so im thinking satin black for this one. If i can find the parts i want in its current red i may keep it as is,we'll have to see how that goes.
Plans then are to keep it simple, mot it and then the restoration can begin. Both my last tourings have been quite low with Alpina front spoilers,i like the look but sadly my wife will be driving this one so anything more than an is lip will be asking for trouble with its planned -40 drop!
I quite fancy a set of 15"BBS with black centres and polished lips,i have an emergency set of five spoke 17's that i can use in the meantime to be rid of the bottletops!
I'll update this as and when i have anything to report, til then here is my last touring that i should never have sold
