Will need to swap out the PAS pump off the touring M50 if it has the self levelling rear suspension as the PAS pump will have an extra outlet on it.

yep that's the kiddy.

With the problems that happen with the self-levelling rear suspension, many have been removed and replaced with srings & regular dampers, so the pump may have already been changed out.

Good thing with starting with an E34 donk is no time wasting hunting down sumps etc, just the engine mount arms from E36 to source

without question, get your loom from Dan, engine loom and leccy fan loom.

If you haven't got exhaust manifold sorted yet then I would also look at getting those from him as the wiring and the exhaust is the single biggest pain with these swaps and Dan's products allow plug & play and they are bloody good quality too, not some chinese lash ups.

With regards to the linkage- you can use either m20 items (2.0 or 2.5), on my setup I used my old m20 2.0 linkage set with m42 box.
Thing I found with it is the linkage yoke sits a bit forward of the hole in the tunnel, but by using a z3 1.9 short shifter rotated 180 degrees this problem is overcome!
If you haven't got a z3 shifter I suggest you get 1 mate, they are brill and noticably better! No more than £50 from bmw 8)

I went up to see dan yesterday to pick up some parts and had a look at his chromie, the manifolds on his car look excellent and had I known before I would have seen him for sure! I will be getting him to do me a loom for my m52 as I had an electric fan loom off him for my current m50 and it works well and is made brilliantly :)
I would recommend him to any1

nope

the heater pipe that comes from the back of the head goes to the bottom pipe/stub, front heater pipe to the top stub on the bulkhead.

have you put the pin in the linkage? take the pin out and get someone to push the servo on to the bulkhead while you do the nuts up

If its clicking its because there is no resistance from the master cylinder, once you have the lines on and fluid in it will be fine

Soon as you have the lines on and full of fluid it will change drastically

Yeah mine did the same and as dan said once it was all hooked up worked fine. Don't forget you need the resistance and vacuum for it to do its job :)

The wiring side of this conversion is harder thinking about than actually doing, if you get me?.... Lol
As I've told others, cut 1, join it, shrink and insulate, then move onto the next 1. Take your time with it and be thorough, its not overly difficult and quite satisfying once complete to be honest mate 8)

just follow each wire from auto ecu plug and cut it out of the engine loom . it will make sense when you start .
