I had the same problem (yes I know its not the same car but could be similar?) on a peugeot 306 - turned out to be a cracked and rusty Fuel pump relay/module = no fuel no spark.
Check your fuel pump relay + crank angle sensor.

you might have problem with ECU..my 327 has similar problem, and the problem is somewhere in ECU, sometimes it's working, sometimes it's not... I had to push the main plug of ECU really hard to its socket..after that it was working for a while.. then I swaped the ECU from my friends 325 and had no problems after that.

ive swap the ecu and sill note there.Gristo wrote:you might have problem with ECU..my 327 has similar problem, and the problem is somewhere in ECU, sometimes it's working, sometimes it's not... (assuming it does) Check the coil primary and secondary resistances.
Check primary resistance between terminals 1 and 15, (disconnect the wiring from the coil), you should get 0.5 ohms.
no its just reading 1
Check secondary resistance between terminal 15 and the king post (centre), you should get 5000 ohms.
its reads about 1053 ohms
Or swap it for a known good coil and try.
ive tryed a new one its sill the same.
Check that your rotor arm is intact. Measure the resistance between the centre and outer contacts, you should read 1000 +/- 20% ohms.
Check the distributor cap for cracks and that the centre carbon brush is ok and spring is working. Measure the resistance from the outer centre post to the carbon brush, you should get ) ohms.
Check the resistance of the HT lead from the coil, you should read around 2000 ohms cap to cap.
cheers for your help ive got fuel and resistance between terminals 1 and 15 is just readin 1 and secondary resistance between terminal 15 and the king post only reads 1053 and coil ht lead to cap reads 1 .

Sorry to hijack the topic, but can I test this method for my 323i e30 with m20 engine year 1985
Check the resistance of the HT lead from the coil, you should read around 2000 ohms cap to cap.
