I had the same issue.I changed the m52 bearing for a 12mm one while doing the engine on the bench.Theen tried to fit the m40 box then found out the shaft was 15mm and had to change it againmagpie wrote:the pink one [smaller] will only fit on a 6-pot box,i'm using an m40 316i touring box bmw said it's the same part number as the m50 the m40 shaft is bigger than 12 mil,it's 15 mm.
m42 must be a smaller shaft if it fits 12mm spigot bearing![]()
