That is a very strange colour combination with the blue (ish) cloth and red exterior.

Holy thread revival!

Small updates....
Managed to source a set of 15" BBS wheels with decent tyres, no centre caps though, although I probably would'nt be too keen on using them daily anyway
Image

Then after finding a part of my rear spring on the pavement recently I though it was a good excuse/time to hit it with the lowering stick

Offending spring

Some dodgy pics after fitting and a quick wash

Its a 60/40 drop.

Just need the arches sorting out next month now and I'll start to be happy with the outside :D

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Wow, nothing for a year, then 2 updates in 2 months 8O

Gave the car to a lad at work for a weekend as he volunteered to take care of the rear arches for me, check the first post for the 'before pics' then add a years worth of road shite and a bad winter for a guess at how they'd gotten..

Anyway
Image

Nice pair from Hadrian via a local supplier

...then I got a phone call asking if I knew what had happened to the drivers side? I didnt have a clue whatg he was on about until he sent me this through
Image

Since he's a canny chap and optimistic, he plodded on for me and fabricated some inner arches (no pics I'm afriad) then went nuts with waxoyl to try and keep it from going again.

Ready for paint
Image

On with the painting

Weight saving FTL :|

Image

After 2 weeks, back out in daylight (and rain boooo) you can see the paint difference in person, although its not a bad match considering the 20 odd years of fading which the rest of the car has had - certainly not bad for a Halfords rattle can 8O

Image

Image

Got some skirts, lip spoiler and eyebrows to get on in the next few weeks - cooking on gas now 8)

Not bad at all mate. The thing is with paint work, its only really you that notices it unless someone is inspecting your car... When your driving it around, no one can tell any different.

Get some centre caps on them wheels. :D

And moar!

Reet, picked up a f00ked 'is lip spoiler got it sanded back, filler removed and got it plastic welded to repair the rip. Then lashed some filler over it sanded it back and brought it into work and hid it so I could spray it up during lunch/before/after etc.

First time spraying anything so it was a lesson, and a messy one at that  Hardly ideal conditions with minimal light and dust galore, but we got there in the end - thanks again for the advice given on here!

Filled, plastic primed, filler primed

Image

Where it was ripped

Image

I also got some SE side skirts too which I thought I'd spray at the same time, they just needed priming and spraying

Image

I hadnt intended to actually spray them here, just prime them, but hey-ho

Image

The NS wing was starting to rust at the bottom and I think it was a copy panel as it didnt line up properly when I held the skirts up. I found a replacement wing fairly cheap on the zone (thanks Fender) and once it arrived I just needed some motivation to do this since I've never removed a body panel before :?
Then next thing you know, just before The Apprentice starts, I got carried away
Image

Colours right, just the door isnt and the rest needs restoring

Done
Image

While I was on, it was about time I fitted the replacement Fogs I bought aaaaages ago.

Before, smashed on the left, cloudy on the right.

Image

After
Image

Image

I also removed the oil cooler cover, which was red, and sprayed it black to break up the red when the lip spoiler went on, a la
Image

Image

Since that was fitted, I needed me some Tiger Seal and a dry couple of days, Wed, Thursday this week, to clag these bad lads on,

Test Fit

Image

Clipped, Tiger Sealed, Taped, Wedged

Image

Other side lined up better, so just clips, tape and Tiger Sealed.

Image

Left it until this morning to go off properly and brought it into work, coupld of quick pics - needs a proper wash and polish, and the rear of the skirt is a bit loose, so will got some more TS on there this weekend
