The 6 series was majorly beasted and bodged by a well known journo who writes for Retro cars iirc ? Every month he posted up a running report on what sorry bodging / molestation he had been up to.

Many of the readers and stancecock members will be following his every move thinking he is a major player and knows what he is doing .

So why shouldn't I tell people what a clown the geyser is and that he hasn't got a clue. Its my civic duty, innit ! :)

Alas, my laptop hard drive has collapsed under the weight of lots of interracial bareback creampie action or else I would post up some pictures of Mr Jones interesting handiwork !

Kitch's car is nice

To be fair, the OP 2 door, at the back looked a bit.. off, but the sideshots did look good :o:
That Mk1 golf though   That must tramline to hell cause of the camber thrust generated, No wonder he got pulled sharpish.

Reminded me of this video i ran into:

PRobably only gets 1000 miles at best from the tyres before they're shot
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun

Yeah just how long does a sidewall last before it wears through?!!?
And the stopping distance of a smooth surface tyre of pushbike width is......?
The maximum weight load of a sidewall is?

Utter pricks who do this. I like a car that HAS stance, not one that IS stanced.
Scene cocks are insecure twats

I have to ask...why did you add camber to that godawful Fiesta?

It doesn't look like it needed it due to scrubbing (main reason you run camber). All you have done is increase the arch gap loosing stance points and making it look shite and at the cost of handling. Even if it was scrubbing, you could have rolled the arches. Or did you not go down that route as it actually costs something compared to wedging some washers in the hub? Piss poor and dangerous IMO.

The golf, in fairness isn't (well wasn't, as predicted the stancecock couldn't afford the impound fee's to get it out) driven like that daily. He wedged to bolt in to drive it from the hotel to the car show and was pulled on route. Still, it's shocking you would consider driving on the road like that!

Kinda ironic that those of us on here go to considerable lengths to sort out camber with the use of camber correction plates when there are people purposefully inducing it

Whilst we're on the subject of Haywoods Fester camber- Camber the rears on a front drive car?!!? Complete fail!!

Nothing wrong owning a tweaked girls car when you're still a teenager if that's what you want (cue abuse at Saxo, Pugs, etc) for cheap insurance, or a hand-me-down from Mum/Gran, but hopefully one day they see the error of their youth. Luckily Haywood has and bought himself an E30 and redeemed himself somewhat :D

But still cambering the rears on a front drive motor?!!? Twat :D

It only just clicked which E24 is being discussed! When it went for sale on retro rides I was seriously considering it but ultimately the cost of buying/running/maintaining etc. was worked out to be a bit too much!

Just reading through the build thread and it's a major shame as it was supposed to have been rot free when it was first bought...

My thoughts on this are you can lower cars and stance them however you like, but if there is any ambiguity as to whether the car is 'stanced' or just has collapsed suspension, then it's gone too far. Personally, I think there should always be a little bit of arch gap when looking square on.

I cambered the rear as the tyres caught the inner edge of the arches AFTER they had been rolled. And as for the comment about not spending money... There was so much money spent on that car being spent... Why would i scrimp on the arches? The lot of it was smoothed and it had a full respray in a different colour. And placing washers in there was SAFE it wasn't unsafe at all as these were approved by an MOT tester friend, why are they unsafe then?

Placing washers behind the hubs on the bottom only is NOT safe. No mot tester would tell you it was.

You have gone from nuts being tightened to a flat true face. To having them trying to bend the studs so they can sit flat against a hub that is now on the p1ss. Not safe at all.

Bush1t an mot tester told you that was safe.

I'm not going to lie dezzy... I've got nothing to gain from lying.

The washer in question was about 3mm thick... I wouldn't of done it if it was even remotely unsafe... Camber shims do pretty much exactly the same

Not safe at all as you are putting strain on the bolt heads.

As Dezzy said, the stub axel will not be sitting flush with the rear beam and this will place extra load on the bolt heads.

Practical Classics mag Pete - I have to admit I was suprised when reading this thread that he couldn't be bothered to deal with the normal maintenance stuff after splashing all that cash on coilovers and rimzzz........he's doing an M42 into an E21 at the moment - maybe you'l end up with that at a later date
