Just been down to A TECH and had His MAF conversion on my 2.7.
Wow impressive!
The difference is big , compared to before !
(Even my wife noticed the extra Torque,) it will pull top gear from approx 1000/ 1200rpm ( on a 3.6 diff) and drives like its got lot more cc under the bonnet.
The spread of torque is really impressive and its a lot more responsive all round too )
No problems or down side only +++
All Ants R&D Time REALLY shows ( he's a true perfectionist ) and wont give up till its Right
Cold start is perfect (even today frozen icy one !) , pulls harder than before with instant throttle response ( not like the normal elastic std e30 one )
At motor way speed the MPG meter showing 40 / 50 at light throttle 70/80 So MPG will be better too
Also hes done me LPG specific chip too , Best of both worlds
A great job ,
Many thanks Dude [/b]

Does this need to be done on a dyno or is it plug and play?
This is the next thing I do on my car

LIVE MAPPED , on mine ( but its on LPG and i had specific goals , which he achieved too )
but i beleive if you gave him the full spec whether std or tuned , i m sure he could sort you out , even in Sydney
My sequencial lpg ECU is now running more advance than std and afr of 17 / 18 :1 at idle so this is going to be so much better on fuel economy too , and we ve found that from a matched petrol to LPG fuel map this conversion is now needing approx 20 % less fuel at WOT when on LPG ,
BUT IS THE DRIVIBILTY THATS MOST IMPRESSED ME ,
Put this on your xmas list your E30 NEEDS THIS MOD
Speak to Ant a @ A TECH

Its a M20 ETA bottom end with 731 head
I ve got a std ETA ENGINE in an e30 too & this conversion is far more torquey than a std ETA and there built for T ,

The standard eta bottom end... Did you change the big end bearings to stronger ones ie 325i ones or did you just keep the standard eta ones?

Std ETA shells / bottom end
Just for remembed
I lighten the flywheel on this one , so the drivibilty is even more impressive than i first thought as it pulls so well

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

most likely.. that or a volvo one, think both are very similar, both are 4 pin anyway. actually been thinking of grabbing a 328i or M3 MAF just to see how similar and to try/compare both side by side as wel las swapping sensors/housings as i think the E36 housing is a little bigger than the volvo one. volvo one is perfectly sized to fit the standard TB elbow but its a little small for my liking, especially since i got that 64mm TB installed

So if this is a non standard engine type with an off the shelf chip, then after a live mapping session the car will be much nicer to drive.
I'm not too convinced on the maf conversion on a standard engine, but in this case where you needed a live remap anyway I'm sure it's worth it.

I've driven one of Ant's MAF converted cars and the top end was particularly impressive.
