£4700. If that's been in Japan from new, that will be perfect underneath and rust free. Low mileage and a great spec - there may not be much profit, but back in the UK with a full sort out and a repaint for 10 grand, that would be 10 times better than the rubbish examples floating around right now.

Wheels are not BBS RS. They are the 2 piece metric split rims which as far as i know, BMW discontinued not long after introduction due to problems with them sealing and most were replaced with single piece metric rims.

Yes, and BMW recalled most of them and replaced said wheels on customer cars with the usual 415 metrics. They weren't fitted on UK bound cars.bss325i wrote:Wheels are not BBS RS. There were apparently two variations on the metric split rims. Smaller ones with 220/55VR390's and bigger ones with 240/45's were an option. I've never seen the small ones and suspect they weren't actually available. BBS made these metric splits BTW.
These wheels are mega, mega rare and would need to be kept. If they've stayed inflated for 20 odd years they should be alright.

Interesting. LHD car in Japan. There was some suggestion that RHD "0760" cars had gone to Japan, but no concrete evidence. It'd be interesting to find its history.
I thought the M88 was designated M88/3 as opposed to M88b35? Later NA spec had S38b35 engines. That's an M88. I don't think I've ever seen a car with those wheels still on it.

Cat equipped versions used a S38B35.
The early ones as re M88B35, the /3 bit as far as i know denotes the 3 incarnation of the engine after the earlier types used in the M1.

That could be a European market car shipped into Japan when it was new - I'm not sure if they were even available there in '86. LHD imports of prestige tacle were/are desirable over there, added kudos and all that.
Just look at the piece of rubbish Pete's working on at the moment..........I have a Jap import 1993 E36 AC Shitzer a couple of years ago and it was a minter - like a new car underneath.

Yes, another festering piece of rubbish - although unlike the blue one which is basically scrap, it could have been saved if that prune hadn't ruined it. two wings, some bodywork and fettling and it had the makings of a decent car. Too late now though. These two shitters are the reason good ones are ten grand plus.bss325i wrote:

Yes, the white on is surprisingly solid. The f*cking spac'tard has ruined it though along with some cooks ferry action which hasn't helped either!Andyboy wrote:Yes, another festering piece of rubbish - although unlike the blue one which is basically scrap, it could have been saved if that prune hadn't ruined it. two wings, some bodywork and fettling and it had the makings of a decent car. Yeah just read up on the wheels before and only just found out.
What happened to the paint on the top side of the car though? I seem to see this in Japan.

It's just heat and sun on 25 year old laquer. A good sign it's not been painted.
