1 switch either side of the gearstick is a sign that your leccy windows are retro fit. i.e. not original spec.massive wrote:Dont mean to be stupid but my car has elec windows but i only have one switch either side of the gear stick. Why have you got 2 on the drivers side?
Its a sport so would have them from the factory. Plus i have M3 leather interior & door cards.E30BeemerLad wrote:1 switch either side of the gearstick is a sign that your leccy windows are retro fit. i.e. not original spec.massive wrote:Dont mean to be stupid but my car has elec windows but i only have one switch either side of the gear stick. Have you got little plastic discs on your door cards where a manual winder would go too?
So where are leccy window switches then? or maybe perhaps yours might be retro fitE30BeemerLad wrote:1 switch either side of the gearstick is a sign that your leccy windows are retro fit. i.e. not original spec.massive wrote:Dont mean to be stupid but my car has elec windows but i only have one switch either side of the gear stick. possibly.. altho mine is a 1988/89 facelift with smilies.. maybe yours has had them replaced at some point...Taylor325i wrote:Jhonno wrote:yeah they are - headlights are non smiley pre facelift on a facelift car
My track car is a facelift model on an F plate but has non smiley headlights. Did they maybe wait a year after the facelift and then change the headlights or was it a case of BMW saying " we'll just use up all these non smiley lights on the facelift cars before we start to fit the smileys"???
Taylor.
could do with finding me a panel beaters daughter...or maybe a painter and decoraters daughter ...just a coat of emulsion would make mine look tons better...and the respray itself was a VERY good friend of mine, that and Im dating his daughter

I would have said they've been replaced at some point too, facelift on the saloon was pretty straightfoward.Jhonno wrote:possibly.. altho mine is a 1988/89 facelift with smilies.. maybe yours has had them replaced at some point...Taylor325i wrote:Jhonno wrote:yeah they are - headlights are non smiley pre facelift on a facelift car
