e34 sump

anyone know what other sumps i can use for my m52 swap as 525 ones seen abit hard to come by. would a 520 sump be ok or is it 12v? also would i use the oil pickup ad dipftick from the same car

as long as it comes from an m50 varient it will be fine afaik mate

A stupid question, and I guess there's a good reason why not as everyone would be using them... Do M20 sumps have the same sump bolt pattern? M20 and M50 blocks are very similar but I've never had the M20 sump up close near an M50 engine.

Iv not had a look at my sumps either, so this may be an horrendously stupid question, but...

Can you not have the M20 bolt holes re drilled to match m52 block?

And as it also looks like i need to source an E34 sump, why wont the E36 one fit? Is it massively different? Can you not have the E36 sump cut and welded to fit?

Or are these sumps cast or alloy etc??

If so, is there not enough room to run a sump spacer plate to take up the offset on the bolt holes? Using a longer oil pickup??

there are about 7 24v e34's being broken on ebay, have you asked any of them about a sump?

yup messaged them all most are saying there selling the engine complete if not they arent open or there already gone

@mattmk1- E36 m50 sump won't fit because the pan is on the back as a pose to the pan on the e34 sump siting infront of the e30 steering rack.
Also they are alloy mate

Andy325i is selling an e34 sump. He offered it to me a couple of days ago but I sourced one from ebay.
