you could be right Theo, that early type rear spoiler looks just like the early Alpina C1 ?

Hi,
I have a 1984 H23 imported to the US in 84. Has pretty much all of the hartge options back then including the long range fuel tank, gauge package, etc. Here are some pics. I have more I can share if you like. The first pic is as it is now with Hartge 16" rims and side skirts. The second pic is right off the boat in 84. No side skirts, BBS RAs, and a early front spoiler (which was replaced at some point). It also had a tan interior with Recaro seats, but not E30 Recaros, more like the E21 Recaros. Now has grey houndstooth sports seats and grey interior.

Yes, it is TavernGnomes old car. I have taken what he started and kept going with it. Pretty much replaced every hose and vacumn line on the car. All the cooling, and many bushings. Next up is a Dogleg sport box sitting in my garage. It is running a 3:25 rear end and it doesn't suit the cammed 2.3L at all. Sport box should help that. Her are some more pics. I can take whatever you need too if there is something specific you want to look at. Everything is pretty much original mechanially from what I can tell except the radiator (newer style) and exhaust (except the Hartge Headers).
As it is now.

When I was looking to buy a set of Hartge wheels I had the chance to buy a set off an H23 (but they were too pricey), the original rear tyres were 245 wide and the shell had appropriate work done to the arches to accommodate them. HTH.

that's looking much better, new bottles and a BMW white battery make all the differenceScott72 wrote:Yes, it is TavernGnomes old car. I have taken what he started and kept going with it. The Spoiler may look similiar to the H23 item, but alas it is not identical.
Nice project though steve... Shame it a dechrome one though.

HaHa... Can't wait for them. I miss having a chrome turd so much.
I'm excited to see more pics of this H23. So few left that I know of.
The radiator I used was a Behr part # 17111468068. Same as used in a 325E. Larger than the original that was a lot like an e21 323i radiator (i think the original is part # 17111177702).

I recall that NGK sticker, was this the one advertised at around 3.5k? How much did you pay?
Looks like a good solid base car, there was also another red H23 but unfortunately that has now been broken by automac iirc
It did look in a right state though...
Got to love the pre-facelift Hartge's & Alpina's, that Alpina C1 on the other thread is ubber
too, identical conversions, different tuning houses. These are the E30's that will appreciate in value/gain cult status the quickest (disregarding the M3) IMO, these are true classics in the making along with tech 1's.
