I'm using skateboard grip tape at the moment too but have been toying with the idea of getting these....

Yep, just heated with a hair dryer to make it more plyable and stuck it directly to the floor. It has torn in a couple of places now though but easily repaired.

I have a half a meter of this as i just applied it to my pedals, its got to be a lot cheaper than an alloy floor thats for sure !

+ 1 on the grip tape. Those aluminium boards are lethal in the wet.

Aluminium tread plate (checker board) coated with UBS-100 (a part sticky rubber, part gritty sand type coating) is an excellent non-slip surface for both wet and dry. Any untreated or uncovered surface (aluminium, mild-steel or otherwise) is ill-advised in the wet.

I bought 2 rolls also and I think I only used one...
