Just picked this 318ti up as a breaker.
Think it has an EWS fault.
Been stood almost 12 months.
After looking around it it seems a shame to break it to be honest.
Bit chavved up to be fair but with a bit of imagination and a 6 pot under the bonnet it could be a cool little car.
Im tempted :D

Do it Tony :)

Engine will just drop in without any beef, no poncing about with the exhaust manifold, no rust to worry about. Makes a lot of sense.

The E36 compact will have it's day, I'm certain of that.

Tony, i,ve yet to see a car that did,nt look better
when it left you, than it did when you got.
Subtle and undrestated improvement too.
Work your magic on it mate.

Nice touch putting the bumper on the passenger seat. Protect it from trolley dings etc. Genius.

Picked up a new key from BMW.
Just spent the last couple of hours trying to get it running.
Has a good strong spark at the plugs.
Fuel pump not priming so bridged pump relay pins 30-87 and still nothing!
Put 12v direct to the Green/Purple at the fuel pump and pump works fine.
Engine tried to fire after pumping the fuel in but still didnt.

I did speak to the parts guy in the dealers who did a check for e.
The car was in with them last year and they diagnosed as `suspected internal DME fault`.
Looks like they may be right.

No way around this is there?

A DME, key and EWS module from any E36 with the same engine Tony.

I spy M tech kit, steering wheel and what looks like a black headlining. 318ti Sport is it?

Dont know if it helps but my compact EWS module was buried up right behind the instrument cluster instead of behind the glovebox, took me fookin ages to find it after pulling half the dash apart.
