that maybe but i like to think it retains the original heart. theres so many engine conversions out there but the m20 is a good one. (bmw thought so) and i think people expect to see a different lump when they here it. thanks for the comments though

its update time... ive been busy but have still found the time to work on the car (some how) pics are much the same really but alot of time and effort has gone into removing quarters, tubbing the inner arches and re welding it all back on. all the welding is now complete thank f*#k.
Image
the front wings came back from the strippers all nice and clean. there now primed/sealed and stone chipped = finished on the inside.
a quick shot after i sealed them.
Image
there now fitted for the final time, its alot of on off on off on off this modding lark. ive also cut and shaved the rear bumper, heated and streched, also now fitted ready for filler work.
Image
pic of the tubbed arch(s)
Image
today (saturday) ive been working with the front bumper.
after slicing it in several places and putting alot of heat, and i mean alot of heat in the corners it was streched (with the use of a jig i made) to fit the car. please excuse the make shift mdf corner spliters lol, there there to keep the shape whilst the new fibre glass sets behind.
Image
im really suprised it streched as far as it did and im more than happy with the out come.
Image
this is the last pic i took today,
Image
all in all a good bit of progress. tommorrow im ripping out the 1.8 engine and running gear ready to smooth the engine bay. hopfully my engine will be in within 3-4 weeks. getting there eh!
i will try to update abit more often but thats it for now.

time for an update... since removing the engine and giving the bay a clean ive removed a few of the brackets that are no longer needed
Image
after abit of filling and sanding (mainly losing skin on my nuckles) ive primed the areas
Image
once that was dry, a quick flat down and a little base coat applied to the n/s
Image
white i hear you saying.... dont worry the car is still going jet black. as some of you know i like to be a little different and thought to myself, what can i do in the engine bay to stand out at the show's. hmmmmm! i know................
i'll let the pics do the talking through the stages
Image
Image
Image
Image
a good few coats of black base
Image
and now the lacquer for that deep shine
Image
the idea behind it was to show that german and british blood courses it's veins. the black paint is it's new skin if you know what i mean.
any who, thats it for today. monday will see the engine out the cab and in this beast (hopefully)

hope you all enjoy, i know i have doing it.

Car looks really Sweet! :) top job, just a couple of quick questions...
What stonechip protector are you going to use on the rear panel? and do you have any tips for removing the rear panel? anything to look out for? thanks :)

i got the stonechip from my local bodyshop supply shop. no specific name, i think it was there own brand. make sure you get one that can be painted over as some cant be.
as for the panel, get yourself a spot weld drill bit and drill them all out. just take care when removing it so you dont damage the apature. it'll make it easier to fit the new panel.
