I should be ready to fit my M50 in the next few weeks.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how much space there is between the engine and the radiator or whether this slimline fan would fit:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/16-Slim-Line-Radi ... 414888270d

It heigh or depth depending on which way you look at it is 62mm.

Cheers

Stu

If u get the right size u can buy a blower fan in stead of a sucker and front mount it... but if u want it behind u could probably fit it assuming u remove viscous coupling etc...

Viscous has already been removed.

It mentions on the eBay ad that the fan can be used to push or pull.

I was hoping that it would fit behind that rad as I want to reserve the space in front for the future

Theres no right or wrong fan as such. as long as it fits and works it'll be alright.

Most people (including me) have a fan between the rad and the front of the car. Mines a 16" and i doubt you would be able to fit anything much bigger than that because the motor is already nearly touching the chassis as it is.

So with a 328i rad, there isn't atleast 62mm clearance to the engine?

Right, I reckon with a 328 rad u'll have just shy of 55mm. thats presuming u can get the thread on the water pump where the viscous mounts.

SO I reckon u'll have to front mount it... What exactly do u want the space for in the future?

I was hoping to reserve the space for an intercooler.
