after a heated front screen and the only one i can find is for an m3. reading way back in the motorsport section people are saying it will either fit straight in or fit with certain parts.
anybody able to clear this up?
anybody able to clear this up?
There are some real opposite messages about this.
I once tried to fit an E30 windscreen to my M3 and it didn't fit at all. Not a chance.
yetti24, what screen was it? from chrome bumper model or plastic bumper?
as far as I know you need to grind the mastic face away from the M3 shell to be able to fit the E30 rubber seal and screen.

the screen i fitted was from a chrome bumper 320i coupe, the m3 had had a new scuttle fitted and it was bare metal (apart from paint) around where the windscreen fits in, i would have liked to of used an e30 m3 seal but i could not get hold of one at that time, so a friend who works for a windscreen company came round and we tried all different seals to see what would be nearest to factory look

doesnt the M3 have a fatter windscreen flange for the glue to sit on? Also im led to believe that the M3 screen has a black band on the edge of the screen all the way round to stop the glue degrading under sunlight.
just realised the op is going the other way round, not too sure if the apperature is the same size externally but if it is you should be able to fit it with a standard e30 seal.

just realised the M3 screen may be bigger as it only has a thin trim round the outside edge which will make it too big to fit with a standard seal, let us know what you find as this may be relevant to my latest project.
