Dude, drop penton08 on here a PM, he is working at BBB and they have some cheap springs that would do the trick.. Or chop a coil off the front springs for now..

More like 4 pot 80mm drop tbh! I'll give it a miss bud, waay to low for me. Although, having the lighter m52 would mean i get more sleeper points becuase the ride height will be even higher won't it? :chuckle:

Cant see it having a dramatic difference on the ride height, what you think?
Although his car does already sit like a Land Rover 90 so not sure it can get any worse :snigger:
Paul stop being tight and get some springs ordered and they can be fitted while the car is already jacked up.

I have read that with 6 pot springs with M52 you get understeer. When changed for IS springs it was much better.
Don't think ride height would be altered much. :D

If it were mine I would go for 50/35 4 pot springs and a sump guard. Facelifts need a drop IMO. 8)

Its all in the sleeper spec, honest!
Image

At the moment i'd settle for some iS springs. I've got some unknown 6pot springs in a box in the attic, could be mtech but probably not knowing my normal luck! I can't afford h&r springs atm which is what i want really (with b8 shocks obviously). I was going to go for 40mm allround, my standard iS used to clip the front splitter getting onto the driveway!

I've just done some calculations using the 328i gearbox ratios with a 3.64 final drive and at 70mph it should be revving at 3,200prm where on the standard diff it would be about 3k. It doesnt seem too bad so i might stick with the 3.64 for a bit longer than expected :chuckle:

I think that might be slightly wrong mate.
I have been told that my 3.64 LSD would loose the use of 1st altogether. Might be wrong though 8)

I remembered the wrong value :chuckle: i did try it with the 3.25 and it came out at 3.2krpm. Just tried it again and its 3.6krpm with a 3.64 diff.

:o:

it would only be using a 3.64 diff until i can afford to buy a 3.25 lsd tbh.

I'm currently running a 3.46 LSD in my m50 and at 80mph it's about 4k, personally I think a 3.64 is too short, unless your sprinting. :D

I've got some leftover oil from when the NV engine went in, so i've got plenty either way. i thought the diff was about 1.7 litres too.

The 3.64 diff is only a stop gap until i get a 3.25lsd which hopefully won't be too long.

Not alot to report about the engine conversion side. The recent shite weather has meant that its been slow progress.

But! For some reason completely unknown to me my mum has bought me a new stereo. The one i've got at the moment is a VERY good unit i've had for about 3-4 years. Its getting abit worn and i fancy a new one really. I've had my eyes on a pioneer deh-p77mp ever since the previous owner of the 318iS i had, had one it the car (which he kept :( ) My mum has bought one a mint example of one! (im still trying to work out why!)These stereos are one of the best pioneer have made and they are a step closer to oem than my current one :chuckle:

And a couple of pictures from the internet of the new stereo (i cba to photograph it yet)

I put the stereo in tonight - its gorgeous! The sound quality is amazing, even with the original 19 odd year old speakers! Im certain the stereo is new even though i bought it used. None of the stickers on the radio "body" have been damaged from the cage and it still has quality stickers on it, the loom is unused and so it the cage! Its packed with features too which is excellent for an old stereo! It might be a refurbished unit mind, but it still looks mint! :D

Cheers oomz!

Today the donor car started to get undressed. In the words of eko - "it is the rustiest e36 i have ever seen". The spare wheels is almost mint and the airfilter is a k+n panel filter by the looks of it!

Not far wrong either tbh...

Anybody know what these dampers are? They don't look standard! We'll probably have a good look tommorow anyway.

This is a n reg model alex. Like eko said - doesn't bare thinking about how it would fair in an accident. Imagine if its been like that for a few mot's....
