I've just received a keyless entry set from ebay and not surprisingly haven't got a clue where to begin. First things first, is E30 central locking pneumatic or otherwise? The instructions do list other options but i can't translate them.

the control box is, but the solonoids are in the doors by the locks ( actuators) that open and close the doors

if u can get the remote module to activate that actuator then all the other locks will work in response

All the wires you need are behind the panel above the glovebox.

Wiring diagrams are not my strong point unfortunately. Brianmoooore, the panel above my glovebox has the ecu in it...

Ah, just noticed your location.
The wires will be above the steering column in your case, and I think the whole locking loom is fitted reversed side toside on LHD cars.

Hope they know what they're doing. One man with a pair of sidecutters can do an awfull lot of damage to a wiring loom in a very short time.
I wouldn't dream of letting any garage that I know any where near any of my cars' wiring.
