None vanos 2.5,24v,out/in,MY,e36,2.8i ,,,All went well today got both engine`s out with help from Mr,B a mate , Was not to bad had to jack up rear to make pulling them out sweet tip from jimmymig , Sump swap oil pickup all there so quick clean pop them back on , Putting 2.8 in tommorow then all the fun really starts . i,v looked and been told about but i hate wires Well hope i`v took something in ,vanos where and ews will not start with out it AAAA I see all wires so let`s get with it am sunday , I do get a bit when i get stuck will post my fun and games tommorow night

I have 2.8l m52 engine swinging on a chain just above its new home e30 320 1988.

I need main engine harness connector diagram for the above cars so i can make a loom adaptor.

The colours are diferent on the e30 conector. Should I just match up the pin numbers and ignore the colours.

willnz's chart shows the E30 colours on the car side of the engine plug and socket, not those on the old engine loom.

Best not to get hung up on the colours anyway and focus on getting the pins right as lots of people have different coloured wires and if you go by one of them it could mean you'll be short a working ECU

Transmitter module Pin 1 to Immobilizer module
Pin 2 to Switched Live
pin 3 to Earth

Electronic Immobilizer Module Pin 1 to 15 ?

Pin 4 to ECU on blk/vio
Pin 5 to Perm live
Pin 12 to ECU on black wire
Pin 13 to transmitter module


Just need to confirm the wiring for the above modules whats needed is the above correct ?

M52 2.8l has been dropped into an E30.

engine turns over - fuel pump primes but wont start. Fault codes show EWS and air intake temp.

injectors have voltage but no pulse.

Hello again iam using the key with chip still inside taped too the antena.No click heared .Fault codes for ews,air temp sensor and no pulse too injectors.thanks for all the help

Same question as above EWS makes no clicking noise. how do i fault find this problem.

EWS has been fitted as per diagram on this site. i've checked all cables for contineuity.

Should it work alone or does it need data from ecu.

ecu, ews box and key need to be from same car.

key might need wiggle to connect successfully to ring

if all done and not working, recheck ews wiring
