Firstly, why do you want a 4.1 diff? It'll rev like hell. A 3.91 is as low as you want to go on a road car.

E30 4.1 diffs were in the 320i saloon manual, various 318i and 318iS. LSD's are very rare and very expensive. Plus they won't take the power of a 325i.

The only 4.1 you can use is from an E28 518i or manual 520i (C reg onwards). This has the same iron diff casing as the 325i/M3 and you can fit the E30 alloy rear cover, output shafts and even a 325i LSD unit.

Doesn't 325 Touring auto have a 4.1 diff?

NOTE: I didn't realise you had 2 posts on this topic so here is my post from the other one incase you missed it.

I can't help you with where to get it but I don't think there are many LSD 4.1's. If this is not a problem that is ok I just thought I would check, I thought a non LSD 4.1 in a 325 might have traction problems. Also just incase you don't know, with my gearing (323i) and a 4.1 diff the engine sits at about 3000rpm at 100km/h (62mph), could be uncomfortable for long journeys but I don't mind too much. I have a 4.1 LSD but I am not sure where it came from exactly, it was built from parts left over from a 2L Touring Car here in Australia (I think E36 318i), but still used my original housing.

Probably usless information but no-one else has replied so...

i think with the 325 gearing it wont be as bad as the 323 gearing but then if i dont like it i can always change it back
