Was at the visit to the BMW Mini works at Cowley last July...
Colin rumbled up in that thing,I wandered over to him and asked him two questions,
'WTF is under the bonnet, and why do you need to push-start it?'
In reply,Colin popped the bonnet, and explained that the exhaust passed very close to the starter, which complained by refusing to play with a hot engine....
Went very well, though,he came up alongside me on the Oxford bypass, dropped it a gear, gave us a wave and was gone...

The noise when running would have made the odd push start worth it.

Myself and Col put the engine and box into Shaz's car off here so it's still going strong.

Yes, It was mine, with a great helping hand through Spadge. Was a shame to break it, but these things happen. Miss it like hell, especially here!
It was always fun pulling up at Ace Cafe and watching everyone gawk, then have a go at the odd rev up and down the road... Hmmm... Noise!!!!
Even out here, nothing beats it for pure horn-Ford/Chev, no comparison.
First time I ever dyno'd a car- the torque curve was steep and very flat. Perfect.
Those sparcos were (and probably still are) one of the best seats I ever sat in. Comfy and not bum numbing on long journeys, yet enough bolstering to keep you firmly in the seats.
If I could download vids off facebook, i have a vid on there coming out of Ace Cafe...
Anyone know how to do that?

Col took me out in a couple of time's, Did not have a brutle pin you in the seat pick up, But the power through the gear's seemed endless, Just kept going and going, and so smooth with it.

'07 Subaru Forester!
But the Golf is here and my jeep is getting modified. Unfortunately, not as cool as the woody, but it's an Overlender CJ8.
Been looking at the prices of E30's and they keep going up! Most are pre facelift and 320/323. AND 2 Door!!!
Happy Australia day Kiwi!!

Looking for an E28 M535i now, and possibly an M60/62 to transplant from the UK. time will tell if it happens though.. That and the rising fuel costs are abit crap. $1.48c/l for E10, add another 12-15c for premium.
