Hi guys and girls as above states i want to change my 325i 1991 H-reg to a manual is this a good idea..? also how much and who can do it on this site..?

Aswell as doing the change above i want to bore it out to a 2.7i also same applies is it a good idea and how much am i looking ball part figure.. Thanks alot people. :D

You might have trouble boring out to 2.7

You don't bore for 2.7, you need a longer throw crank.

About a year ago I was pricing-up a full rebuild - done properly with the bores honed, new piston rings, all the gaskets, check the big ends and mains, new shells, head skimmed, etc, etc. I gave-up when it came to over £1k. As an example, piston rings were £25+VAT per pot IIRC, so there's over £170 for starters.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Oh ok i thought they were simply bored out but this dont seem the case.. ooops, I live in leamington spa, What do you guys think about the change from auto to manual..? any long term effects in a bad way or is it nothing to worry about.? cheers
