Ha, no it's not my parents garage - that's still stuffed full of various bits of mine. It's now residing down the road at my mates garage.

You can of course come out for a ride in it, don't think it will rival the 3.5 turbo for outrageous speed though! I'm plucking up the courage for another excursion in that, I still have vivid memories of Tobys car with that engine

Target is to have this car at the Ring in September...

The paint is totally knackered on the car, it was always bad but it now has loads of scratches, scuffs, repairs, overspray etc etc. It's only getting a quick blow over, but should make it look very nice.

Yeah, the guy who painted my Hartge is doing this car as well. He's based in Sutton Valence so not too far away at all, good bloke too.

Rear inner arches have been tubbed and seam welded to the outer arch so there's not not going to be any rust traps or tyre rubbing. It's also been seam-sealed and undersealed. I just need to source a fuel tank and fit it along with all the suspension, strip the bumpers so they can be sprayed, rub down the engine bay, clean all the sticky shit from the interior which I never bothered doing when I first stripped it a couple of years ago, fit the bonnet pins and then it will be ready for paint.

for a white car, i've always been tempted to do a "tesco value racing car" theme

UPDATE: car is on it's wheels and pretty much ready for paint. It's sporting an adjustable rear beam allowing for toe and camber to be adjusted, alloy wishbones with treehouse racing bushes, gaz coilovers, wheel stud conversion, e46 m3 rack, polybushed all over the shop, rose jointed front and rear top mounts with the fronts allowing independent adjustment of camber and castor, 4.5kg fibreglass bonnet, lightened bumpers, adjustable anit roll bars etc etc.

Abingdon sounds like the perfect shakedown prior to my proposed 'Ring trip in September, but I'm not sure whether I will have done all the niggly little bits by then. Needs an exhaust, intercooler pipes, various wiring modifications, alignment/setup, power steering hoses, electric fan, brake lines, fuel system, downpipe heatshield, oil cooler hoses need fettling, bracket for brake sluid resevoirs, engine plumbing, washer bottle and jets, oil catch tank, an MOT.... probably lots more.

Somewhere between a week and a year sounds about right!

I have to say I'm really pleased with how it's coming along, big thanks to my mate James (n1tr0_10 on here) who's expertise in this sort of thing has been so important.

I was amazed today when I jacked the drivers side front up in the air about 4 inches, only to find that the passenger side front was also in the air - this is without the roll cage, strut brace, glass, or anti roll bar drop links fitted.

The car is propper slammed, but due to the tubbing of the rear inner arches the rear could probably do down another 80mm without rubbing!

Car is now painted, nice and shiney ja? The interior was a DIY effort to save the painter a load of hassle. Engine and gearbox are in, the engine is in dire need of a clean and new coat of paint on the rocker cover in a slighly less homo colour.

Halfords aftermarket rear view mirrors have come on since I last looked.

This looks really good, in fact I want it. It makes me want to get our s13 back on the road, but its too wobbly to be good round a track!
