The exhaust from the e30 318is is needed though, I modified my m40 one and tbh was more hassle than it was worth.
Thats a pig to track down unless your made of money. In the end I just kept my scorpion cat back from my m40 which was still bolted up to the m40 front section. As there was a few feet of m42 front section (it had been cut just before the cat/silencer) I chopped 2 slots in the m42 front section, chopped the m40 front section to match, sat one inside the other, exhaust paste all round and a 2 inch u bolt to clamp it down. Works fine IMO.

exactly the same as what i done M40 exhaust slots niceley inside the m42 down pipe then just clamped it and welded it up

I must have been lucky :) Picked up an IS exhaust for £50, I thought it was worth it.

Only trouble with mine is the back box is rattling against the body..... its bloody annoying and one of those piddly jobs I need to get round to sorting.
