right am getting a e30 325i and am thinking about turboing it.
what is the standard compressing ratio on a 325i
and what power does a standard internals take and wot is the best compression ratio for a turbo and also what ecu can i use i was told you can use standard ecu is this true

Early 325i's are 9.5:1.. or about that.
Later 325i's are 8.8:1.
Not sure about what standard internals will take.
I wouldn't use standard ECU as the fueling/ignition will never be spot on. Go for a standalone ECU. A lot of people use MegaSquirt.

Can anyone point me i the right direction to some good build threads for this conversion
i can't seem to find much information on the subject
what size injectors are people using for 300 hp and what psi of what turbo T4 ?
Cheers

Tons of E30 turbo builds.
Standard internals will handle 450hp no problem.
9.7:1 compression engine requires a 0.120 MLS gasket and ARP headbolts to survive
while the 8.8:1 engine will do it on paper gasket + ARP bolts.
Go for 450cc injectors and no less.
You should reach 270hp at about 9-10psi on a stock B25.

Take a look at the diagnostic plug, near the dipsstick.stembo21 wrote:this this for both the erley and late one? how come the compressin ratio is so different? how will i know what mine is its a f regblingsta wrote:Standard internals should be good for 350bhp
On the early blocks they are kind of D shape, whereas the later ones are more O shape. Probably loads more ways that someone
else can point out.

Thanks mate thats a great help
The downpipe is easy enough.
Even for a big log manifold and lhd.
