right am getting a e30 325i and am thinking about turboing it.

what is the standard compressing ratio on a 325i

and what power does a standard internals take and wot is the best compression ratio for a turbo and also what ecu can i use i was told you can use standard ecu is this true

Early 325i's are 9.5:1.. or about that.
Later 325i's are 8.8:1.

Not sure about what standard internals will take.

I wouldn't use standard ECU as the fueling/ignition will never be spot on. Go for a standalone ECU. A lot of people use MegaSquirt.

manifold.
pipework.
intercooler.
programmable ecu.
downpipe.
injectors.
fuel pump.

there will be more stuff that i cant think of, but that should get you started :)

i can't seem to find much information on the subject


what size injectors are people using for 300 hp and what psi of what turbo T4 ?

check out www.e30tech.com´s forum.
Tons of E30 turbo builds.

Standard internals will handle 450hp no problem.
9.7:1 compression engine requires a 0.120 MLS gasket and ARP headbolts to survive
while the 8.8:1 engine will do it on paper gasket + ARP bolts.

Go for 450cc injectors and no less.
You should reach 270hp at about 9-10psi on a stock B25.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

Take a look at the diagnostic plug, near the dipsstick.
On the early blocks they are kind of D shape, whereas the later ones are more O shape. Probably loads more ways that someone
else can point out.

i think the worst thing eill be the downpipe cos the steering rack is in the way wots the best manifols to use

The downpipe is easy enough.

Even for a big log manifold and lhd.
