Yep got to do it again, Given up with the current lump, bought a donor car, and will have to go again. If anyone want's to lend a hand with the swap I won't say no, I don't fancy doing it on my own again.
Any hoo, the new engine has full history stamped too. sounds good enough. i will be going on position 3 this time, use the loom from the e34 and not mix the 2. use the header tank from the e34 aswell i think. rekon i have two full "broken" days work between the swap's to get it all done in. Will start this monday if possible.

BMW did a 5.3 E30
Better luck with this one, guess it was easier to source a whole doner car than just an engine in the end

removing a M30 is easy... just cut the downpipes rear of where you need them, undo the prop, remove wiring, hoses etc, remove front bumper and rad then cut the slam panel and front panel with a hacksaw, lift the weight on an engine crane, remove mounts and roll the car away! that's the fun way anyhow!

I went down the same route as Gareth, much easier to yank the front off the car.

bloody hell zaust your starting again!
im pretty bad for it too and im on my 3rd or 4th swap.....i cant remember.
this one is done but doesnt have an MOT, well, i will be playing with the exhaust then it will be done.
anyone want a finished project rather than building one? it will prob be cheaper in the end. £1500 to anyone wanting a lowered, black 335i touring.
got a seperate 3.64lsd that clunks if anyone wants one £150
dont worry this aint a for sale thread, i just could help talking about my car.
good luck with the swap zaust, it wont take that long if you crack on. ive done a full swap in a weekend
took a few days to recover though

Thanks Ric.
Pulled it with eroll last monday. Will be removing and fitting new exhaust stud's this monday. Might even wash the engine bay and maybe just maybe, make this engine look half decent. Got to work out where to out the coolant bottle as i'm using the e34 one this time. The monday after that I won't be around. But the folling one should be fit and drive day.
Don't sell ric. you will only end up doing another.

my thoughts precisely!zaust wrote:All ready to drop in, just need another day off to do it now.
Did not wash the bay, and did not make the engine look any nicer lol. but who cares it's for driven not showing.
took years for me to get round to painting the manifold and rocker cover on mine, and that's only because the head was off getting skimmed and i was bored!
