320i head diffrences

got a question is there ay diffrence between the
320 heads 83-87 and 88> one just wondering thats all

i believe tyhey are the same as are the 325 heads pre and post facelift

as long as its got the .....730 making all is good

On the 2 litre cars there are two heads to look out for.

The early version is the 1264 200 and itÔš's identified by its small inlet ports. The later head is coded 1277-731 and has inlet ports almost two inches in diameter.

Obviously, you want the right one and while fitting a small-port head to a later engine is going to reduce its power, fitting a 731 head with an opened-up inlet manifold will improve things.
