i am having some m30 conversion mounts made at the moment as copied from some e30.de mounts i bought.....

i will have a price by this evening and post it here..

could anyone who is interested please post here and let me know

they are VERY high quality (i bullsh1t u not) 5mm sheet steel, not alloy ones like normal e30s.... in fact they are overkill and way stronger than the actual subframes on the e30 probably..

so please post here and let me know.... they are Ԛ£160 from e30.de in germany but they will hopefully be half this price and exactly the same..

cheers

unfortunatelty no luck with the first place-too pricey, more than the e30.de ones... 8O

gonna try a couple more prices as i really dont know why more people arent doing what really is a cheap and well documented conversion, so if we could get a provisional list up for buyers, so i can get cheaper costing on more buyers that would be great, so

1. Dave
2. Ritchie

im not gonna lie this is not gonna happen overnight.... but they will be of the best quality and i wanna get the heapest price possible, its silly to buy mounts that cost more than a e34 m30 lump...

more news will follow tmro....

thanks for the sticky ant, would be great if u could keep it here for a few days then move to the group buy section-cheers dude

cheers

ok back with a first price....

they are gonna be Ԛ£110 for a pair, not as cheap as i initially thought they were gonna be....but still a Ԛ£50 saving, i will try a couple other places and see what they say..

note the Ԛ£110 mounts will be made in 10mm steel, from this first place i got a quote from....

will try a couple other places and let u know soon...

What engine position are they for?

Might be interested in these as well if the price is good.

hello jos, the mounts can be used in positions 2 or 3, although to anyone doing this comnversion id recommend position 3 every time....

position 1 (the futhest forward can noy be used with these mounts

the m88 and s38 engines like i am using can also be used with these mounst as the block mounting points are the same!

as i said the first price i have obtained is for Ԛ£110 for a set.. but i will check a couple other places and see what they say, if not it will be the Ԛ£110 ones in 10mm steel

hope that helps

I'd be interested if they were cheaper then the e30.de mounts(which I already have). Are these for the Early or Late M30 blocks?

sadly not the case. i know this because i've swapped my e30 from early to late engine.

e30.de make different mount sets for early and late block engines. the left (passenger side on RHD) mount can be designed to fit both blocks, but the right one is different between early and late blocks, the mount holes are different. might be possible to design it to fit all blocks by incorporating extra bolt holes that would only be used on one type.

by early i mean e28 m535i/635csi/e23 735i etc.
late is e32 and e34 m30s.

not 100% sure which blocks the e28 and e34 m5 engines used...

Got a friend of mine who is a professional fabricator/welder, I think I will get him to do mine, they won't be designed/ready for your conversion Karan, but I am sure I can get him to make them for the price of materials and a bottle of red wine for other conversions later in the year.

thanks for clearing that up toby!

so these will be for the later type blocks in position 2/3
the e34 lump is best suited to the conversion anyway

Could you post the specs on the mounts? What dimensions you can measure. I want to get some made here in the US so I dont have to pay to ship heavy steel across the pond. I have a buddy in a machine shop here and he said he could make them for $50 US if I could just get the specs.
