I prefer the look of the I but like the thumb grips on the II. What are people's opinions and reasons behind which wheel they have. Cheers, Joe.
P.S. Sorry if this has been done before.

Neither at the moment, but have seen both in local scrappies. I don't like the large centre of the II. I wondered if people could give me good reasons to go for that. Does anyone know the diameters of the standard, I and II wheels?

iv got a two coming tomorrow cost me 80 quid so if u get it cheaper than that snap it up they are becomming rare. iv currently got a one on my is (selling for 40 quid :P ) i think diameter is 380mm pal, the mtec two is either 350 or 360 mate

What are the pros and cons of a smaller wheel then?

i dont think there is any real cons, its personal preference of what you liek the look off. some people like myself prefer slightly smalelr steering wheels to drive with, especially if u are short skinny n weak like me.

i think it all boils down to personal choice but Mtec 2s are generally rarer and more sought after

The 2 looks far more modern and sleek. Much neater. It is in much greater demand though, so good luck getting one off a wreck. Ebay has them going for 200-300US in some cases.

I have a tech 2 with an internal wiring problem (no horn working) that I need to get back on the car now that its passed its roadworthy test, but to be honest, anything is better than the stock E30 steering wheel. It looks like something off a bus. :\

agreed there. Mtec 1's are still nice, especially if the M badge plaque is not damaged.

In my opinion tech twos are more modern and much nicer
