is it maybe worth trying another gasket, just incase there's a manufacturing fault with that.

I believe both gaskets are the same

Errrrmmm how can i put this... In that pic the gasket is upside-down and the exhaust holes are offset compared to the bolt holes.

Try it again the right way up as it would be on the car :mad:

you need to try that gasket against a bmw head to be sure where the problem lies, if the manifold is at fault it will cause some power and running issues as im sure you have guessed.
No longer self employed but still available for welding duties.
