To be replaced by this beast....

It's essentially a Chev 427 (7.0L) 400 BHP motor but does anyone know if this has ever been done before?

not sure as GM/Chevy boxes are easy to source here, will look for the model number but your best source is Australia as the yanks seem not to be able to cope with three pedals, most struggle with just a single triggerWould the Getrag BMW/Jag box not fit with an adapter plate?
Yes it would be huge to do, hard to do, expensive to do, expensive to run, hard to get through MOT let alone insurance quotation stage. and in all honesty IMO would not be must quicker to drive than a decently set up 2.7 or M50 conversion which is a conversion well documented. the V8 would make huge amounts of torque and quite a few BHP but i reckon would be all but unusable in an E30 as the front would be so heavy and with trailing arm rear end it would be spending most of its time attempting to pass the front.Though in all honesty, is this not a pointless exercise in that it would be a huge undertaking to create
