I'm very biased - can't raelly think of anything
Although Perhaps made them of alminium so they don't rust?

Better front/rear balance for the saloon shelled cars.
Less turns lock to lock on the steering.
Better rust protection.
LSDs as standard!

Should have been front wheel drive. Rear wheel drive is too dangerous in the wet.

Was just playing, that is one of the best things!
The rust and heads on the M20s are the worst things.

rust is gay!
i think steering is part of its character and ive grown used to it, and makes u look very busy and herolike when behind the wheel when going hard!!!
wider track would be nice like m3
lsd standard and a v8 option or a turbo option would be great

Thinking about this realistically they could have:
1) Included stiffer standard suspension (although this was partly rectified later on as I think all tourings had M Tech suspension)
2) Put the bloody interior door handles further forward (on the 2-doors at least)!
3) Lighter clutch so you don't get bad knees
4) Decent headlights (though an Osram Silverstar upgrade sorts this one out
)
That's all I can think of for now....

Nothing wrong with turbos, BMW have made turbo petrol engines in the past and are going to in the future.Martinaston wrote:Turbo ?

I think they put the interior handles that far back for safety reasons

If they were worried about safety they wouldn't have made it RWDMartinaston wrote:I think they put the interior handles that far back for safety reasons

That's true, falls off too easy as well......a little unsafe when it falls behind your brake pedal when you're approaching a corner at 60mphA1BMW325iSport wrote:given them a better drivers underdash panel, it looks cheap and nasty also gets broken easily

Yeah I think you might be right
However it was holding there as it should have been and so was totally unexpected.
Maybe screws to hold these in rather than clips would be another way of making E30s better

The two things I can think of off the top of my head would be
1) - Having a "lights on" buzzer of some sort. That really is silly.
2) - Have a better system than that hydraulic light level adjustment system.

I've already got one.......unfortunately it's having the mechanic sort out the headlight aim every year for the MOT.Wyldie wrote:2) - Have a better system than that hydraulic light level adjustment system.
And re the "lights on" warning, how old are you?

Are u having a laugh?! try driving a 325i with it's factory clutch then u will know heavy!Zayyan wrote:

It's all very well but if 325's were 2.7 etc there would be none left and plenty in hedges every time it rained etc.
Also they have to have a market to warrant doing these things and find another 80's car as good? Dont say quattro, cavalier, integrale or metro

Rear suspension with more adjustment options
Lighter pedals
LSD as standard
More space in the kicks for 6.5" speakers as standard
Bigger engine options as standard
All in all minor niggle, nice car as it is
Didnt have much in the way of rust on my touring.
