Well, after nearly 18 months, my Hartge themed touring is finally finished. :D

The whole project has had it's ups and downs, but, with the help of fellow zoners and friends, we've overcome all the obstacles and built a beauty.
The car started off as a 320i Auto Touring, then.......they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so enjoy. 8)

Part 2

This is where things take a big leap forward. I've no pictures of the stripped floorpan that's been painted white, the complete overhaul of the rear end including all new bushes, bearings, backingplates, new fuel tank, 3.91:1 LSD, all new fuel and brake pipes, the list goes on.

We'll start off with a few shots of the interior bling.

Image

Then on to the next stage, the full Alpine White II respray.
Image

Image

Note the underseal's been removed from the rear valance for a nice, smooth look.
Image

Outside while the doors and tailgate are painted.
Image

Image

Image

Smooth front panel too.
Image

iS lip spoiler fitted.

Ready for the finishing touch....

...the stripes.

At last, ready for MOT and the road. 8) :D

Quick update. MOT passed, just waiting on insurance documents so I can tax it and go playing.

Still need to change the clutch and flywheel though, I've used an E30 318iS gearbox, clutch and flywheel, but, there is some serious clutch slip. Got an M20 flywheel and clutch assembly to fit before I can really enjoy the experience. :D

The wiring was done before I fitted the engine, which made things a lot easier. The wiring was the hard part, luckily I have a mate who's pretty handy when it comes to this, he got it all up and running without any problems, using a quick guide from Brianmooore which can be found in a thread on here. 8)

Fitting the engine was pretty straight forward, it's a tight fit though, which is why I did all the underbonnet work first before fitting. Again, there's a cracking 'how to' on the Zone regarding the M50 retrofit. :D

i think the anthracite will go nicely on your car while white would look cheap and nasty. do you know any body else looking for stripes as the more there is the cheaper it would be.
