how to fit m tech 2 side pods/skirts?
Moderator: martauto
If anyone has a guide for fitting the kit then i could use a copy aswell.
I think if there is one out there then it should probably be made a Sticky as i'm sure there's plenty demand for it.

I can get to thisabelai wrote:I believe there are templates that you can still buy from BMW that stick to the car and you drill accordingly. You can see them on realoem

If you go to your dealership and ask some parts have fitting instructions, be nice and they might print them off. I'm collecting some parts on friday I shall ask.

If I can't fix it I'll f**k it up so bad nobody can!!
lads pm me a email address and ill try and send the original bmw instructions (in pdf format) you can buy the template but its about £20 to. but then chuck it after use ...i fitted mine without it just make sure you buy all the correct clips its not as hard as you think i used one of the clips with the 2 pins removed as a guide for the drill and lined the sill up and marked it it dont have to be perfect as there is a bit of leeway on the sill for the clip to move
I am now half way through fitting the side skirts and pods but have had to stop as BMW sent me the wrong clips
. I have been taking pics through doing it so will make a thread on how to do it when im finished as I found it hard to get infomation on this topic.

I want to know how easy is it to take it off with out mashing it up, plus once taking off is it best to buy all new fixings to go back on or just some certain bits?
THERE IS NO RIGHT SIDE TO WAR! ONLY THE SIDE THAT IS LEFT!
the PDF for fitting the side pods (infact the whole kit) is mentioned and linked to at the beginning of mrlees front and rear fitting guide on the zone wiki.

or copy and paste that into a new browser window and wait 45 secs.
I hope this helps you all and thanks mrlee for the info and great wiki article.
