Then I noticed it had a petrol dash in it, rev counter etc.

I checked with bmw customer service and they had last seen it in 1999 with 196k on it!!!!!!! and i bought it in 2003 with 183K???

Obviously been clocked but then i did another 43k in it over a year and half going backwards and forwards to france only doin basic service stuff. and it just got better and better.

Must have had 350/400,000 plus on the clock when i sold it in 2004 and its still in taunton

The trim will fall off,the windows will stop working, the wipers will stick but those engines are bullet proof mate!! Yes, I'm talking shite as usual
Good old Aldridge Prior! More fairy tales no doubt!

Seriously; First off - the Touring is only available as a TDS and the better SE only from earlyb 1998 R plate. The Saloon TD was 115 bhp non intercooled with a GM four speed auto (basically a 318i box) or 5 speed manual. They're okay plodders. The 318tds is ghastly, just don't even go there.
The 325tds is best as an auto. The gearing is very long (38mph/1000 in top) so will se very economical on long runs. The M51 diesel works a lot better in the E36 than it does in the E34. Problems arte the diesel pump timer unit leading to an uneven idle (new pump, ££££), poor cold start (glow plugs and/or fuel return line one way valve), overheating (shagged in general).
There are still a few nice ones out there - you'll need a couple of grand though.

Goodness me, you actually managed to sell a car to somebody without giving them the runaround ? Well done Aldridge !!

Oh, and have a read of the "E30 3 Series Restoration Bible", which is written by the "Village Idiot" that you've just slagged off. I believe that he knows a thing or two about BMW's.....

The difference between a BMW sales man who knows nothing about mechanics(yourself) and someone who who knows BMW's is amazing. You are a sales man for BMW right? I bet the service and sales department hate each other. Usually because the sales department insist on buying sheds that the service department have to fix for cost +fuck all.

Most people, you excluded, realise if you get a £350 325tds you are asking for a lot of trouble. It will soon cost you £1500 to fix when it all ends in tears. Sadly salesman like you are also unaware and even more sadly so are your customers which you have to prey on?

Buying a good/expensive one makes sense to people who understand cars, that will never make sense to a thick salesman though.

Back on topic.. Yeah - I got a 325tds as Malc says. Bought it cheap and yes it's got suspected diesel pump problems. They seem to come in a 200ish, if I recall correctly, that's reconditioned plus fitting so yes it could cost £££s. And yes my glow plugs I think need changing too as it's got starting problems. However - it's a bloody great car. giving a good 38mpg, quiet, comfortable - it can't be knocked one bit.
E46 M3 CSL but dreaming of another E30.

That's a bit aggressive, he's just being a keyboard warrior behind his monitor.

Don't lower yourself. :)

I can say the E36 is a very comfortable car. Don't know too much about the TDS though.

No. A c*nt is useful which is more than you will ever be. Just go away mate. Go talk to yourself or a tree, whichever has more sense.

320d? Good car but the only one I bought was £18'500 from a BMW dealer many moons ago. :D

You don't need to go to an auction to buy a £3000 320d old Boy - they are around for this sort of money everywhere. But given the £2000 choice between a mint low mileage 325tds Auto Touring with air and leather, or a 200'000 mile clothed up 320d manual from the auctions - well I shall leave it to your good offices to decide which will be the better car.

Sorry, which BMW dealer do you work for again?

What the hell did you expect ? You've p1ssed off so many decent zoners on here with your attitude that it was only a matter of time before somebody snapped.

And yes, house prices are low up here, which gives me more cash to spend on E30's. Oh, we also have no crime up here either...

what the **** you doing on a BMW forum working for MINI, Go and pester MINI2.com

Oh and obviously the MINI dealer you work at can't be any good.

1. They let you on here during work hours (internet usage is for business use only)
2 cause they employed an arrogant person like you.

If you're so affluent with multiple careers as a car salesman, estate agent etc and "living the dream" in a 123d (one of your £50pw specials?) why are you constantly loitering around an E30 forum? :?

Ooh, yes, I'm sure they all dream of the day they will be able to save up and afford that mint e30 sport, don't they? 'Tis the cruel world that forces them to buy their M6's to keep up with the Jones's-Twathams-Parkinsons instead of following their true dream - a nice e30!

Good. It was touching how an imaginary friend stuck up for you on that unfortunate thread about how you wasted a Zoner's time with your imaginary car.

Hope he's enjoying the E21 you sold him.

HMM I wonder which dealer it is you work for.

I just hope you don't talk as you type because you won't sell a single thing.

You say you work for BMW then you say you work for MINI it is either one or the other you can't work for both, Unless you meant to put the comma after the word present.
