I bought my cab back earlier in the year and paid over the odds for what I have no found to be a pup since washing it and looking at with a bit of time on my hands. No problem, I'm keeping it so I'll invest money in it and get it back to how it should be.
I then bought some wheels, one of which is the wrong offset. Not checking them all I put them on the car and bent the front brake caliper on the passenger side. No problem. Chucked them in the lock up and bought another set of the one and only Pacerpete over at Nelson Mandela house. Perfeck.
But now I am starting to lose my rag.
Dropped the cab off to a garage run by good friends of the in-laws. I took a parts list over on Monday, telling them what they need to order in. They said to bring it in on Thursday and it'll be done. Dropped the car off yesterday and told them there are some samco hoses in the footwell I want fitted while the thermostat & water pump are off.
Turned up last night to find 3 of them standing next to the car where I left it lighting plastic bottles with petrol in (via a lit rag on a pole) within 3 metres of my car (a soft top).
I got home and told the wife who rang and tore them a new ars*. They were hopefully getting on with it this morning. Needless to say I am looking for a new mechanic in the Essex/Kent area for the next load of work....Ant?
But the tip of the iceberg is a little known member on here. He bought the brand new unused Scorpion and angel eyes off my white 2dr last year. He also wanted the engine which I'd just had £800 of head work done to, but couldn't afford it. I stupidly said he could take the car away there and then (December) for £120 and pay me later.
March time I sent him a reminder and he offered me a design cab for £1200 which he was rebuilding. I agreed but by May I bought my new one as there was an issue with the shell/vin no. on his one. So back to owing me £120.
I've been chasing him weekly now and at 1st he said he wouldn't pay because the engine was only running on 3 cylinders etc etc then he said he'd send a cheque. Nothing. He was supposidly camping with his son this week although somehow he has been answering his ebay questions.
He knows how ill Nat is yet still he deciedes to take the p*ss out of us and not pay up! He even scrapped the shell and made £30 on it plus the remaining parts he stripped off it.
So gutted, I am a trusting guy and always like to give people the benefit of the doubt but he has driven us to take legal advise and we've now got the support of Nat's Barrister friend who is going to issue a notice of intent and will represent us in the small claims court. I've had enough now.
It's all sh*t we don't need with what's going on with her at the moment.
If anyone is looking at buying any parts from a design convertible that's on ebay at the moment being fragged you may want to check what your buying before sending payment.
Sorry, rant over.
