Do you ever think? Why the hell me?

I bought my cab back earlier in the year and paid over the odds for what I have no found to be a pup since washing it and looking at with a bit of time on my hands. No problem, I'm keeping it so I'll invest money in it and get it back to how it should be.

I then bought some wheels, one of which is the wrong offset. Not checking them all I put them on the car and bent the front brake caliper on the passenger side. No problem. Chucked them in the lock up and bought another set of the one and only Pacerpete over at Nelson Mandela house. Perfeck.

But now I am starting to lose my rag.
Dropped the cab off to a garage run by good friends of the in-laws. I took a parts list over on Monday, telling them what they need to order in. They said to bring it in on Thursday and it'll be done. Dropped the car off yesterday and told them there are some samco hoses in the footwell I want fitted while the thermostat & water pump are off.
Turned up last night to find 3 of them standing next to the car where I left it lighting plastic bottles with petrol in (via a lit rag on a pole) within 3 metres of my car (a soft top).
I got home and told the wife who rang and tore them a new ars*. They were hopefully getting on with it this morning. Needless to say I am looking for a new mechanic in the Essex/Kent area for the next load of work....Ant? winkeye

But the tip of the iceberg is a little known member on here. He bought the brand new unused Scorpion and angel eyes off my white 2dr last year. He also wanted the engine which I'd just had £800 of head work done to, but couldn't afford it. I stupidly said he could take the car away there and then (December) for £120 and pay me later.
March time I sent him a reminder and he offered me a design cab for £1200 which he was rebuilding. I agreed but by May I bought my new one as there was an issue with the shell/vin no. on his one. So back to owing me £120.
I've been chasing him weekly now and at 1st he said he wouldn't pay because the engine was only running on 3 cylinders etc etc then he said he'd send a cheque. Nothing. He was supposidly camping with his son this week although somehow he has been answering his ebay questions.
He knows how ill Nat is yet still he deciedes to take the p*ss out of us and not pay up! He even scrapped the shell and made £30 on it plus the remaining parts he stripped off it.

So gutted, I am a trusting guy and always like to give people the benefit of the doubt but he has driven us to take legal advise and we've now got the support of Nat's Barrister friend who is going to issue a notice of intent and will represent us in the small claims court. I've had enough now.
It's all sh*t we don't need with what's going on with her at the moment.

If anyone is looking at buying any parts from a design convertible that's on ebay at the moment being fragged you may want to check what your buying before sending payment.

Sorry, rant over.

bad news dude. Unfortuntetly the world is full of morons and robbing bastards. I personally find that the only people worth trusting with anything are my friends and family.

hopefully you will be able to get this all sorted out and get what is clearly rightfully yours back.

Name and shame the ungreatful tit. It's people like them that fook it up for the genuine people out there. I've been in your shoes a few times as I myself am very [too] trusting, but then again aswell as being took for a c*nt I've also made a lot of friends and business contacts by being this way, it's just swings and roundabout's

that just takes the piss! its people like yourselves and all the other kind memebrs that allow this community to continue on such a good and trustworthy path shall i say. when shite like this happens you dont see the point of being that helpful and polite and kinda adopt the attidue "feck everyone else now"

but completely understand your pos. mate; you seem like a cool and colective character, so tbh youve dealt with it quite well; i would have probably smashed a brick wall in by now, and im bloomen well patient!

but i think what winds maybe all of us up is why and how some people can be so ignoratn stupid and selfish all in one and have no sort of concience that its wrong! i could never do that, dont know honestly how people sleep at night think "f him i dont owe him anything" shocks me everytime.

ah well buddy, like Dave said, Ant is your man in kent!! im sure hes one bloke you can trust with your eyes closed! though you may end up with a car thats been turbcharged without your permission, but thats not a bad thing!

hope it all sorts itself, stay patient and you shall suceed!

Name and shame Daryl. The great thing about the zone is that despite differences of opinions about the various E30 models, we tend to trust and respect each other in the pursuit of getting our respective cars up to scratch. I know I'm not the only one who prefers to deal with a zoner rather than an unknown bayer, but if there's a baddun amongst us then we should all know.

You've had some seriously bad luck (Truly sorry to hear about it) and there's no doubt that you're a decent bloke, probably very reluctant to dish the dirt. You've been ripped-off and hopefully it will be resolved, but just don't give that ar*e the opportunity to do the same to other zoners. Otherwise 'trading' on the zone becomes just as risky as 'baying'.

I'm going over to his house tomorrow and I'm going to cause a stink until I get my money off him. I'll then name and shame. If anyone is in the chingford (essex) area tomorrow and fancies a laugh, follow the police cars. winkeye

I went to see how the garage were getting on and they hadn't even moved into the workshop last niht. They left it outside unlucked all night and still hadn't touched the car. Needless to say I bought the car away with me and wil be calling Ant tomorrow morning.

as every one has said name the daft bollock hes taken advantage of your good nature and completely ripped you off people like that should be hung upside down by thier scrotum and slapped like a b*tch, the zone sould be a place where we can all trade ideas and buy and sell bits in a safe environment without the fear of being ripped off largely it is but there are some con mercents out there that ruin it for everyone..........and dont even get me started on fleagay (ebay) i dont use it any more too many tossers

Easy for me to say mate, but you shouldnt be so trusting ! You sound like a decent bloke whos having some terrible luck at the moment, I hope all this gets sorted out for you.

The guy/girl off here should be named and shamed and should be banned really, People who come on here are generally really nice people but there are the odd few who think its ok to try and rip people off......Usually people with a low post count who arnt really known.

Finally...success....turned up, apologised as he'd lost my number etc etc.....came away with my money.

Can't tell you what a weight off it is to finally settle up.

I cannot name and shame though as I'm just not like that. I don't believe he does it on a regular basis so I do not think he would do something similar to another zoner, despite it taking 9 months to stump up the cash.

Your not wrong buddy......just done the deal on a BMC filter and looking for an illuminated gear knob. I might even have enough change left over for a bag of haribo and a can of tizer to sit down with tonight and celebrate with the family. Chuffing marvelous. :D

BMC filter! how much tht fr then, they stupidly expensive they are! though i really like one, just cant see spening that on a filter when you could actually buy an exhasut manifold for a bit more!

illuminated knob (ooo er) would be a great touch!

Apparently he saw a dodgy pic of you in Greece on here so has been giving the zone a swerve for a while winkeye

The guy managed to dodge at least 40 of my calls last week. I left a dozen voice mails and set 5 texts justr last week after finally losing the plot and my patience. I have no idea why it ended up like that when all I was trying to do was a help another human being out.
I've learnt my lesson now and thankfully I can draw a line through this very messy chapter of my life and get on with the more important things in life.
