seems like a good idea to post a few pics of my car before something else falls off!

EDIT: that'll teach me to say things like that, just found this underneath after too many burnouts at le mans!
Image

no excuses for the filthy state it's in, these pics are from just before and during this years le mans trip.

Spec:

1989 316i bronzitbeige metallic 2dr shell
1990 535i 3430cc m30 engine, standard tune (alpina equal-length exhaust manifold to come shortly) 211bhp/229lbft (but i'm running with no cat and single box exhaust system)
Honda Integra-R standard filter
custom cold air intake
standard 535i manual gearbox
e30 m3 prop
3.91 LSD
shortened 518i gear linkage
custom engine mounts, self-fabricated
self-fabricated straight-through exhaust with e36 328i backbox

325i rear disc trailing arms
318iS 51mm front struts, standard iS dampers front and rear
Spax lowering springs
325i front brakes

M-Tech II bodykit
MIM 1900 15x7 rims with toyo t1-S all round
iS check recaro interior
M-Tech gearknob and tech II wheel

G-Tech'd at six-one to 60 with near-bald rear tyres, but i don't think it'll do much better than that with the new ones.
Will quite easily hit the limiter in top at around 143mph indicated. need a longer diff!

This is the same car that was featured in the PPC engine swap article? I bought the magazine straight away when i saw the 3.5 swap on the cover!!

Sounds and looks like a great car - i'd love to have the ability and balls to do that swap one day! good luck with it!

cheers for the comments

yes it's the ppc car, except pretty much only the shell is the same! it was barely a runner when i did that article

i soooo can't decide whether to put the mtech 2 on the boot. i got one all ready to go on (but still red!) but i'm absolutely 50-50 whether to fit it. i love the look without from some angles but others it looks unbalanced like something's missing

if anyone wants to buy the damn thing then that'll sort my problem out once and for all won't it, can't fit it if it's sold! seriously (i think :x )

and no hap it ain't getting sprayed bloody marytius blue :teehee:

this is the next mod

yep the pepsi can is very much required!

otherwise it don't sit properly on my desk and then i start working instead of dribbling on it

don't know if it'll give too much of a gain but i'm hoping it'll pull harder at high revs and sound cool

only thing is it needs modding if i want to retain steering control

Hope you are counting all those dead flies on the front of that! The RSPB want an accurate count so they can tell if the birdies are getting enough to eat

Love that car toby, it really is such a weapon!

:teehee: the amount i paid the french police to drive fast enough to collect all those flies, they'll be able to set up a nature sanctury for sick or homeless flies :x :x

it's been cleaned once and some flies still refuse to leave, i think they like the colour!
looking nicer now though, it hadn't been cleaned since i put the kit on until a week ago
