Hi guys

I went down to the MOT station today with the 2.7 turbo with MS and despite the worry, the cars got a clean bill of health. :D Points to note were:

engine hunting
battery was insecure
oil leak

A very BIG THANK YOU to ANT and NIGEL.

Now just to put some miles on and then a rolling road session with Ant.

Cheers

Well done!!!! Im gonna buy my MOT, well NCT (ireland). I might try get a test first just in case. 150€ should do as a bribe. nice.

On another note,... any idea what kind of power your getting? Im just in the middle of blowing my 2.7 (2.7 block 2.5i head). See the "project: rear mount turbo"

Mine sailed through last week, well a new tyre, some welding and a headlight bulb was all that was needed.

Congrats!

Congrats. My MOT was last week. The only thing I was worried about was emissions, having only just installed MS, and not had time to tune it. Emissions were fine, but there was a shopping list of other things to fix

Cheers guys.

Yeah I've seen a few threads with guys worried about emissions with MS but it all seemed to add up. After a mapping by Ant I was confident the MS would be spot on.

327ire I don't have a clue as to the power output figures just yet. Yeah I've read your thread and it seems rather interesting. Would be great to see some vids of your car in action.

I'm only boosting 0.5bar at the moment. I'm still running the car in so nothing too heavy. Still a lot of work to do to get it where I would like it to be. I think the first upgrade would have to be a bigger brake setup.

Cheers guys

How did you get on with your emmisions?

I passed first time with quite high readings but the tester said they're very kind to older cars.

I set my AFR targets for 14.7, 900rpms and made sure it was warmed up before hand, laptop was on and ready but not needed in the end.

This is 1000% better than my last MOT, had to retest 3 times due to ignition problems causing a crap burn, sorted in the end.

My MOT also identified bent suspension which although wasn't a fail on it's own, has since meant I've had to fit a new arm and poss track rod end too, still it's sorted now.

Come to think of it Mark he didn't mention anything about the emissions at all. They were more enthused about the fact that the car had a turbo and the owner of the MOT station is a BMW enthusiast so the sound of the motor had him from the get go.

Yeah just glad though that its over now so I can concentrate on getting the other things sorted like the radiator water bottle needs replacing.

I also need to smack on the new wings as the ones on the car are knackered ( rust ) .
