Hi guys in need of upgrading my sound in my e30 wanted to know what size speakers would fit the standard rear quater cards and also near the front foot wells.

hello mate , you will get a better response if you put details of your car.

e30's take 5 1/4" front footwells. i'm not sure for cabbies
if there wern't people like me,
with cars like mine,
who would you put down to make yourself feel better?

Hi there.
Cabs take a standard 5.25" speaker, both front and back.

I recommend if upgrading that you get components for the front.

Thanks for the advise guys I dont really wana gut holes or mount the tweeters from the components in to the rear quater cards would it be better to get somthing up the market speakers like Diamond 5.25?

If I go for the components would they need to be run from a 4channel amp? I've never really wired any components into a car so dont really know much about them.

Any help would do thanks.

no components only need 2 way amp , they normally come with a cross over (which seperates bass , mid , treble) and the tweeters can go on the plastic covers by the door mirrors

A set of componants is usually 4 speakers 2 for seach side and can be powered by a 2 channel amp, if you however want to run the front and rear speakers off an amp it a must to have a 4 channel amp (if your not running them off your headunit that is)
