Latest 10v you can get. I think '86 is the changeover to the MB engine, which is much more reliable than the earlier cars.
Hi - I had a mint one of these - awesome cars.... but can be expensive if they go wrong... mine was fine for 3 years apart from once when coming back from kart race down a dual carriageway at about the speed limit

approaching roundabout dabbed the brakes and heard the famous synthesised voice say... "brake failure"....
All four seats got a change of colour.... !! Suffice to say it was just a glitch - brakes were fine
As far as engines go, yep try and get the later the better, Changed from WR type to MB (but still 10v) in Oct 1987 along with some other worthwhile improvements, and then to the RR 20v in late 1989 - the 20vs still make a huge premium...
IMHO, a good service history from knowledgeable source is essential...
