not trying to bash but what is the benefit of 12 o'clock gauges? I know that in early race cars they would turn the dials to an angle so that redline was at 12 o'clock. Any particular reason why yours show naught at 12?

No reason other than it different.
I got them from Germany and it seems to be a popular mod over there.

Not sure about the dials, but E36 switches are well cool - was one of the first mods I did to my E30.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

I really like the switches and not a hard mod to do.
It was harder finding switches and plugs with white backs.

Whats the reason you can't use other coloured switches other than white or blue?
My scrappy had a few but none were white or blue so i had to get them from england .

I had a play around last night making a speedo dial in MPH as its a bit of a pain beinging in KPH heres what i come up with.

I haven't a clue. Theoretically a switch is a switch is a switch, but I tried one with the small green base and I couldn't get it to work any way anyhow.

Ive got that kit on my car too; very easy to install, just ensure you use PTFE tape to ensure a good seal! The wiring is not that hard; its routing it into the car neatly that took the most time!

what would be cool is inverting your fuel and temp gauge too, it would confuse the hell out of the next owner winkeye

jhonno - surely just pull the needle off and refit them at whatever angle you want, they still turn the same way

i like the e36 window switches, good mod as you dont have to push them very hard to make them work whereas sometimes the e30 ones have to pushed down with conviction or in a certain way, which some of my passengers dont seem to be able to do!!

Just as mrllee said, the rev counter needs to be pushed left or right abit to get it spot on.
