how do you guys cope??? all 4 of my tyres are bald on the inside but look new on the outside edge! just way too much camber from lowering it. was thinking about camber correction rear arms, would have to make the track a bit narrower so the wheels still fitted in the arches. anyone done it before?

cheers

ps i think mines dropped 60mm on the front and 40 on the back.

i dont have any tyre problems with a -60/-40 drop.did you have the tracking checked after lowering it?

not excessively so. my rear tyres wear out prematurely across the full width of the tread due to my driving 'style'. my fronts were alligned after i changed the suspension.

if you have to be decked then you get the tyres swopped round so the other sides wearout, it literally doubles the milege of them!

yeah i figured that but i can never be arsed. its the same with the off road tyres on the land rover. expensive tyres and very soft compound but i can never be arsed swapping them for the road set when ive finished playing.

Therein lies your problem - can't be arsed to change them! It does make a difference, but get the geometry set up properly by some professionals however you want and it should help with everything. I've noticably got neg camber on the rear, but the front is fine atm (due to drop down over the next weekend or so though!)

Remove the council drop and settle for something more reasonable. I'm getting 12 months wear out of a 35mm drop.

60mm is too low without proper camber adjustments - see the motorsport section some of the guys on there have some replacement tops for the front - not sure whats available for the backs maybe just a bit of time spent swapping them :D

I have eibach springs on my car which don't lower it to much (25/30mm) but I still had nearly 4deg- camber at the back, after fitting the camber adjustment kit I was able to bring it back to factory settings, mind you that was at max settings on the adjustment kit, fitted adjustable top mounts at front and again was able to get back to factory settings. Should see a vast improvement in tyre wear.
However if you can't be arsed to change your tyres round then your unlikely to be arsed to rip out your rear beam to fit an adjustment kit.

the car in my sig which was my dads had very bad camber at the back due to it being 80mm+ low at the back but the tyres wore out evenly over the space of 9 months when it was used daily with mixed driving

ah hah!
I'm fitting these eibach springs to my touring and I really hate the idea of having too much camber. Where did you get the kits from and how much do they cost?

Thanks

I have Eibach Pro Kit springs and Koni dampers (the yellows) on my car and the vehicle sits about 30mm lower than standard. After the suspension was done it was off to the tyre guy's to have the alignment/geometry done.

I had -2.5 degreees of camber on all 4 wheels. I actually find that spot on for what I want.

I find rears last about 3000 miles and fronts about 5000 miles.. in general they wear pretty evenly..
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!
