Hi

One of the lights on my instrument cluster is flickering on the colour is red.
Looks like this (O)

It the one between the hand brake symbol marked (P) then is the one I'm having the flickering with it look like this (O) then its the exclamation mark in brackets I.e (!).

Its flickering on the off and I don't know what its for and what to do to rectify the problem??

Its brake pad warning light.

Pads might not be gone though, inspect them. Often the brake pads are replaced and the brake pad wear sencers are not.
325i Tech 1 Touring, breaking.

2.5 high comp. M20, 3.64 LSD, Fully undersealed, Spax springs & Bilstein shocks, s/s exhaust, Alpina rep wheels and more.

Sorry brian are you saying its a different problem or that a 220 ihm resistor will replace the the brake pad wear sencers?

Since the light is flickering rather than always on, its probably the dry joint problem on the instrument cluster rather than a 'sensor'.

Gotcha might check mine then too since my instrament panel is out anyway.

ah thats what the light is! i must check mine then. does it haven sensors on the back? or just the front. mines a mix and match of afew cars so dont realy know what its ment to have :(

IIRC front right and rear left have sencers. If you are facing the car.

Front left and rear right calipers have sensors.
If you have rear drums, you only have a front sensor.

Or front left and rear right, if you are facing forwards.
All lefts/rights, forwards/backwards, front/rear on any car are taken from as they would be sitting in the driver's seat.
